ISLAND HOPPING @ LANGKAWI

15 Aug

On one of our last day on Langkawi we went on island hopping. It was a nice little two hour trip. We swam in a freshwater lake, watch the monkeys ran away from aggressive monkeys (!), watched eagles and bathed on a lovely beach on the tiny island of Beras Besah.

SIGHTSEEING @ LANGKAWI

14 Aug

Just a few more pictures from Malaysia. We used one of the days in Langkawi to rent a car with driver to drive us around on the island.  First we went up with a very steep cable car – the BF felt very lucky to survive!

After the cable car we were taken to a very beautiful waterfall where we could take dip.

Suddenly the rain started to pour down and we used the break to order some food – lots of food! Although it looks a bit suspicious, it was really delicious!

SUSHI TIME

5 Aug

In Langkawi we stayed at Lanai Beach Resort. Not very fancy, but clean and nice for the price – and it was situated right down to the beach. Right beside the hotel was a fantastic Japanese restaurant, Unkaizan. It had really delicious sushi, and it was nice to get some other food than they served in town.

LANGKAWI

After Lang Tengah we went to Langkawi, an island which lies off the northwest Malaysian coast. The water was not equal as crystal clear as on the east side, but the weather was fantastic and I drunk a lot of watermelon juices and pina coladas :)

As I mentioned in my earlier blog post, we went to Lang Tengah with a lot of the BF’s friends – and it was exploited to the fullest! They played cards, football, went fishing and snorkelling – while the girls lay on the beach chairs and read one book after another.

After the wedding we went with the wedding couple and approx. 20 other friends and family to a small island off the southeast of Malaysia; Lang Tegah. We lived in a small resort, Sari Pacifica, and we had the place almost to ourselves. It was so incredibly beautiful with bounty beaches and sparkling clear azure blue sea.

The wedding in Malaysia was held in two rounds on Saturday. So in the evening the Danish wedding was held, on the top of a large shopping mall in the center of Kuala Lumpur. It was a really beautiful location as the wedding took place around sunset so the light was amazing and the bride and groom looked so beautiful! After the ceremony there was delicious food, shisha and dancing the until the early morning.

INDIAN WEDDING VIDEO

Thought you should see this beautiful video from the Indian wedding ceremony.

INDIAN WEDDING

27 Jul

As mentioned in my earlier blogpost we were in Malaysia to attend a wedding, as both were held in Indian and Danish. So Saturday morning we went to the Indian wedding wearing Indian clothing. I had my problems with tying a saree of several meters, which my friend had been so kind to lend to me, but thanks to instructions from the previous day and the help of Youtube, I got it almost right!

The ceremony itself was incredibly exciting to watch, there were dancing, burned incense and gifts – it was very different than what you’re used to from Denmark. And the bride and groom were incredibly beautiful :)
